Message from the Premier
Queensland is richly endowed with smart people and wonderful natural resources that support our economy today and hold the promise of enriching it tomorrow.
One resource that underpins our economic strength is the coal industry and, as this issue of Catalyst shows, great brainpower is at work to enhance the safety and future prosperity of our most important export commodity.
This issue also highlights a new method of capturing Indigenous culture for future generations and shows that the Smart State’s position as an aviation hub is being enhanced by the development of unmanned aerial vehicles that have tremendous economic potential, particularly in regional Queensland.
This issue also demonstrates that Queensland is attracting people with extraordinary talents such as Alan Groves, a sculptor, model maker and special effects artist with a worldwide reputation for creating dinosaur models.
