In Queensland, we’re proud to be building the smartest of states – one which will ensure our prosperity by making the most of our physical and intellectual resources.
To maximise the state’s potential, we’ve launched the next stage of the Smart State Strategy – Smart Queensland. It’s a blueprint for action over the next 10 years, and includes an exciting series of practical initiatives to complement and support the work already underway.
This issue of Catalyst looks at the major Smart Queensland: Smart State Strategy 2005-2015 initiatives which will boost scientific, business and educational effort across the state.
The magazine also covers the state’s smart successes in areas as diverse as controlling fruit fly and dengue fever, and producing furniture for export. It looks at why biotechnology is an industry tailor-made for Queensland, and how Zen is producing better Queensland businesspeople.
