Queensland gives A+ advice to QATAR schools
Keen to reform its schooling system, the Middle Eastern country of Qatar has sought the advice of Smart State educators.
Consultants from Education Queensland International (EQI), the export arm of the Department of Education, Training and the Arts, are participating in Qatar’s school reform initiative, which aims to create a modern, world-class public education system.
The driving force behind the reform is the Vice Chair of the Supreme Education Council, Her Highness Sheika Mozah, Consort of His Highness, the Emir.
“What I see unfolding in our classrooms deserves all the support we are capable of offering. After all, our students and teachers are giving us something invaluable in return: the brightest possible future,” Her Highness said.
EQI project director Dr Ray Barrett said his team was supporting five Qatar public schools in their development of management processes and the implementation of a national curriculum from the start-up phase through to completion of the academic year.
