Message from the Premier
One of the five goals of Toward Q2– my Government’s vision for the Queensland of 2020 – is for a strong state with a diverse economy powered by bright ideas.
We are already well on our way to achieving this vision. Brilliant minds are at work across the state, breaking new ground in technology, creative arts and design, health and the environment.
Consider the work being done by Queensland researchers in the field of infection control. Or the hardy geologists braving the elements to help produce Australia’s first geochemical atlas. And a forward-thinking software company that has cornered a niche market overseas.
Queensland is bursting with innovative thinkers who don’t just contemplate, they create. Local designers are taking centre stage internationally with their unique approach to sustainable design, while at home a fresh take on music and literature is reaching a new generation of culture buffs.
Strong, green, smart, healthy and fair. That is what the Queensland of tomorrow will be thanks to the innovators of today.
