The Smart State has recently become home to three new major research and cultural centres - supported or built by the Queensland Government.
Interchange arrangements and joint appointments
The exchange of researchers and skilled professionals between the Queensland Government and external organisations is an important way to develop innovation in the Smart State and flexibility in the workplace. Queensland Government employees can be part of this exchange through two options: interchange arrangements and joint appointments.

Growing the Smart State PhD Funding Program
The Program is a Smart State initiative, providing grant funding to selected PhD students whose research is relevant to the Queensland Government's Priorities.
